#13: Y’all’d’what?
We’re pretty sure this post isn’t grammatically correct, but it still makes perfect sense if you stare at it long enough. Contractions are super common in the English-speaking world, and sometimes they’re used more commonly than their uncontracted counterparts. This person made up their own contraction, and it’s out of control.
Not everyone will be able to decipher this phrase, but some Tumblr users insist that Southerners can read it without a problem. “Y’all’d’ve’f’ld’ve” is meant to translate into “You all would have if I would have” and we’re amazed by how much sense that actually makes. Props to everyone who was able to read it and guess the meaning without reading it twice.
