49. Laundry habits
This is yet another task we all find extremely easy and self-explanatory; loading the washing machine isn’t rocket science, and there’s not much to it: we load it with clothes, add soap and fabric softener and hit the start button, right? Wrong. While way is fine, and it gets the job done, if you want to get the maximum out of your laundry, there’s a better way to load the washer.
Before stuffing all your clothes in the machine, you should let the water begin to fill in, add the soap to the water, and only then add your clothes. This allows the soap to distribute evenly through the water, and it ensures all your clothes get cleaned. Otherwise, the soap might not touch all the clothes inside the machine.
