14. Just for decorating purposes
We all have a wooden chopping board in our kitchen, and if we’re honest, the main reason why we choose a wooden board over a plastic one is how it looks. Besides its obvious function, this wooden board also functions as a decorating accessory in our kitchen, because anything that is wooden adds a nice touch to any space, and we want our kitchen to look as good and welcoming as any other room in the house.
However, while those wooden boards might be aesthetic, they aren’t good for our health. Unlike plastic chopping boards, the wooden ones are quite hard to clean, and they absorb bacteria easily, particularly after using it to cut certain kinds of food. After several uses, and if you don’t make sure to scrub the board immediately after using it, the bacteria absorbs into the grain of the board.
