15. Bobby pins
Bobby pins are widely used by women and men around the world, and they have been for years, despite their main flaw: they don’t stay put. We use them to tame our hair and keep it out of our faces, but they often fail to do the one thing they’re meant for. However, that’s not on the hair pins, but on us. Apparently, we have been using them wrong this entire time.
There’s a reason why bobby pins are shaped as they are, with one side flat and the other side wavy. While most people insert the flat side on their scalp and the wavy side facing out, it should be place the opposite way: the wavy side is meant to be near the scalp, as it grabs onto our hair and keeps the pins intact.
