16. You’re slicing bread wrong
Nothing compares to the smell of fresh bread, don’t you think? When slicing fresh loaves of bread, we often use force holding the loaf and end up flattening it completely on the board. If you want to keep the bread in its original shape and avoid squishing it, try placing it on its side, and slicing it from the side down.
You don’t need to apply any force to the knife – try cutting it from the side next time you slice bread, and see for yourself how smoothly it goes. Yes, you’ve probably been slicing bread wrong your whole life, but it’s never too late to learn new things.
