19. Storing avocados
Avocados aren’t only incredibly tasty and healthy, they are also oddly photogenic, which is why they have become perhaps the most popular fruit of the past years (thanks to social media). We all keep them in our house, as they make a nice addition to a healthy breakfast or a light dinner, but most of us don’t store them appropriately.
We usually buy avocados before they are fully ripe, and store them in the fridge, thinking this would keep them fresh. However, we need to let the avocados ripen before cutting them open and leaving them in the fridge. When buying avocados, we should keep them at least 3-4 days on the counter, and only then is it safe to put them in the fridge.
