22. Not only for hot days
Some of us don’t like sleeping with the air-conditioning on, and so during the hot months of summer, the ceiling fan seems like the ideal solution for those hot nights. While that’s perfectly true, most of us don’t know these ceiling fans can be used during the winter as well, if you turn it the other direction.
To get the cool air flowing, the fan should be turned counter-clockwise, and that’s how most ceiling fans are designed. If you want to use it during the cooler months, to get the opposite effect of warm air, switch the fan the other way – this will push the warm air downward and provide you with a heating device during winter.
