Before technology got into every aspect of our lives, there were common anxieties that came from a lack of instant communication and information. Our modern devices have made life less intimidating, but they have also brought new fears, even though some people may feel nostalgic for those easier times. Let’s revisit some of the common fears that we had before the internet and smartphones.

#1: Getting lost and not finding a phone

Let’s face it, getting lost was a true nightmare before GPS. The maps we relied on required a mix of navigation skills and intuition. Today, smartphones have made this fear nearly obsolete. With a few taps, you can access maps and find your way in no time. Still, that pressure to read a map remains a unique skill, even if it feels outdated.
