Bo Ling in A Christmas Carol
We love when creators of movies insert their own personal history into their movies. It makes the movie that much more meaningful and special- even if the viewers aren’t always aware of the subtleties at play.
In A Christmas Carol, we see a bowling alley with the “w” part of the sign turned off. This is a nod to the assistant director’s mother who once saw the same thing and thought the bowling alley was actually “Bo Ling” a Chinese food restaurant. The cute restaurant with the bowling sign is a truly heartwarming and hilarious nod to this director’s childhood.
