Tornadoes are always seen in the movies, but they’re more frequent weather events than you might think. Every year, about 1,200 of these windy beasts tear through our towns, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. But the good news is that not all tornadoes are created equal.
Some are just mild flings, while others are full-blown relationship disasters. On average, tornadoes in the U.S. cause about 80 fatalities and over 1,500 injuries yearly. But hey, let’s look on the bright side – at least we have storm shelters now, so we can live to tell the tale.
