#3: Arch Deluxe
Between 1996 and 2000, McDonald’s offered the Arch Deluxe, a burger that was more “adult.” Instead of that childish ketchup, it had Dijonnaise, which is Dijon mustard and mayo. The store spent hundreds of millions of dollars promoting this, but it flopped pretty hard. It’s considered one of the most expensive marketing failures ever.

One reason for its failure is the burger’s steep price. It was, drum roll, please, around $2, or $5 today. With McDonald’s current prices, this makes me wish for a time when a $5 fast food burger was a ripoff. Personally, if I want an “adult” burger, I’m going to some local burger joint.
