As a kid in the 90s and early 2000s, there was nothing more exciting than collecting Pokemon cards. We all remember trading and battling with other students using them! However, in recent years, there’s been a huge resurgence in their popularity. Between 2020 and 2021, the Pokemon Company sold 3.7 billion cards!
In March this year, a first-edition Pokemon card from 1999 was sold at a record-breaking price of $420,000. So, I bet this Reddit user was pretty bummed knowing that they threw so many of their cards away as a kid. They could be worth a pretty sizeable fortune now! As an avid Pokemon card collector, I’m running to my attic now; I could be sitting in a small fortune.
