I guess we could probably call this phrase itself an old fogey, but that would be a little bit cruel on our part. Old Fogey means someone who is very old-fashioned, and the phrase itself is very old-fashioned. I’m sure I heard it growing up, but it definitely hasn’t been around in at least the last twenty years.
