#4: Rush Hour
In many countries worldwide, particularly in Europe and Asia, citizens rely on public transport, carpooling, biking, or even walking to get where they are going. It’s uncommon for them to drive themselves to the store, the park, or even the office. It can seem even unusual for every person who lives together to have their own vehicle.
Living as an exchange student in the United States, this person was culture-shocked by the mass amounts of cars everywhere. In the U.S., everyone drives everywhere they go. Everyone has their own car, and some families have more than one car. Public transportation is available, yet many people prefer to drive themselves. That was a surprising revelation.
