#9: Arthur Conan Doyle
Arthur Conan Doyle was the creator of the master logician Sherlock Holmes, and he ended his life with a simple act of love. On July 7, 1930, the 71-year-old author was in the garden of his home with his wife, Jean. He had been suffering from heart disease and was frail. Clutching his chest, he turned to Jean, looked at her, and said, “You are wonderful.” With that, he collapsed and died from a heart attack.
