#17: Henry VIII
Henry VIII was a tyrannical English king known for his 6 wives and his violent break with the Catholic Church. As he lay dying in 1547, it’s said his mind was not at peace. He had dissolved the monasteries and executed many religious figures who opposed him. According to some accounts, the dying king began hallucinating and screaming one word over and over: “Monks! Monks! Monks!”
