#7: Claims about the Bigfoot cover-up

Not every conspiracy theory carries a heavy tone. Claims about a Bigfoot cover-up belong more to the world of forest trails, grainy film, and stories told with a grin. Bigfoot, also called Sasquatch, is usually described as a large, hairy, humanlike creature living in North American wilderness areas, especially in the Pacific Northwest. Indigenous traditions, local legends, and later American folklore all helped shape the figure people recognize today. The idea of a cover-up became attached to Bigfoot when some believers argued that park officials, scientists, or government agencies had evidence but chose not to reveal it.
