Although, because this is past tense, it sounds like this person broke free of their urges to steal. Maybe it was just a phase. A kid thing. Who hasn’t stolen something minor, like a can of soda or a pencil as a child? We’ve all done it. Let’s just hope they weren’t stealing homework and making it their own.
