Underwater Hockey World Championships
It is no surprise that something as exertional as underwater hockey has a naval history; the British Navy invented the extreme sport. Although there is a minimal chance of injury, people do usually sprain their muscles a lot, but they are always in great shape because of the overwork against water.
Following its mainstreaming, the sport gets played biannually in the form of a world championship with 20 countries participating actively. Each team has six players, and the players are equipped with underwater diving gear, snorkels, diving masks, gloves, small sticks, etc. The game’s goal remains the same as for hockey: one team has to ensure the puck lands in the goal of the opposing team to win.
