Same supplier, different prices
This probably isn’t a secret at all. Vegetable and fruit suppliers deliver their produce to retail stores all over the place. This includes selling their stuff to restaurants, bargain grocery stores, and high-end supermarkets. Depending on where you shop or eat, you’ll end up paying a different price for the same product from the same supplier.
But some supermarkets will take it to the next level. According to this carrot farmer, one of his supermarket customers buys carrots and puts them in two different packages: store-brand and private label. They come from the same farmer, but depending on the brand, you’ll end up paying more for one of them. Totes awesome.
