Dutiful Drinking
Technically, this person isn’t wrong with what they said. After all, if they go on duty drunk, they’re technically not drinking on duty, as they actually did it beforehand! Of course, this is just a small niggle, and I have a feeling the judge probably wasn’t too happy to hear this.
Unfortunately, drinking on the job is quite a prevalent issue. In fact, approximately 3 to 5% of people’s absences from work are a result of their drinking alcohol. 25% of people say they’ve been drunk at work, while 35% have noticed others feeling merry at the office. You’re best off keeping the drink to the weekend!
