Some TV shows seem to have been born with the perfect title, and it’s difficult to imagine them being called anything else. However, before these shows made it big and became part of everyday conversation, many had to go through earlier ideas that almost stuck. The nearly forgotten names provide a bit of fun insight into what was happening behind the scenes and remind us that even the most beloved shows on television needed a little bit of work before they could take their place in pop culture.
#1: Friends — Insomnia Café
Before six friends gathered at Central Perk, the title of the show was something that related to a condition in which people cannot sleep. Long before Friends became one of the biggest hits on television, the creators named it Insomnia Café. It was a coffee shop for and by the youth who gathered in the late hours of the night to discuss their lives.
