What constitutes “Halloween candy” has changed throughout the decades. Nowadays, our Halloween candy consists of bags of mini chocolate bars, candy corn (which is the most divisive thing ever, as I recently found out), candy apples, and other fall delights. We’re here today to take a trip down memory lane and look at 22 popular candies from the past decade that were particularly popular on Halloween.
#1: Necco Wafers
Necco Wafers is one of the oldest modern candies, dating back to 1847! These sugary wafers aren’t too exciting nowadays, but they are strangely addicting. Plus, due to sugar crystal science that I can’t understand, they make a spark in the dark when you snap them in half. Necco Wafers went out of business in 2018 but made a comeback in 2020. Grab yourself one and preserve candy history!
