Shake and Bake gave your meats a crispy outside without frying, and it was so easy to coat that a little kid could do it. These commercials showed a little girl helping in the kitchen, then saying, “It’s Shake and Bake, and I helped!” in an adorable Southern accent. Whenever kids would help their parents make food, whether Shake and Bake was involved or not, they’d always say, “And I helped!” in the same voice.
