Before the Internet, a lot more effort was put into commercials. From catchy slogans to memorable songs to pure weirdness, we still remember them to this day; they were like the memes of our time. For example, many of us would shout, “Where’s the beef?” when something wasn’t up to our expectations. We’re here to look at 22 classic commercials that are still memorable all these years later.
#1: Where’s the Beef? (Wendy’s, 1984)
Wendy’s launched this commercial in 1984 as a clever way to tell viewers that their hamburgers had more meat on them than McDonald’s or Burger King’s. The old ladies looking at a burger that’s all bun, no meat, and decrying, “Where’s the beef?” are still remembered to this day.

It was even used in the 1984 election, with Walter Mondale saying it to primary rival Gary Hart. Wendy’s has also brought back the ad campaign several times since their burgers are still as fresh as ever!
