A litany of lawsuits brought on the downfall of the electronics store Sharper Image. It was discovered that the company’s popular Ionic Breeze air purifiers gave off unhealthy amounts of ozone, which cost the company greatly. Sharper Image filed for bankruptcy and closed all of its stores in 2008. Though the brand had a resurgence in 2010, and while no physical stores came back, it has an online store now.
