#8: FYE
Much like Blockbuster, FYE narrowly avoided extinction with the rise in digital entertainment. The retailer was known for selling physical media like movies and music and saw a rapid decline in sales thanks to streaming. That said, the stores brought in fan merchandise like memorabilia and has managed to hang on to over 200 stores across the U.S. With the increasing consumer wariness of digital only media, the store is even more necessary as other stores like Target continue reducing or eliminating physical media from their shelves.
