The Modern Family star indicates that motherhood has made her a lot less conservative, but we argue that her strict parenting method are as conservative as you can get. The actress believes that children need structure and rules in order to learn responsibility and boundaries, and so rules isn’t a bad word, but the other way around. At the same time, she acknowledges they need to be themselves and let out their energy.
Part of these boundaries is letting your kids know that you’re here for them, but not necessarily as a friend. Being friends with your kids is a method that many parents adopt these days, but perhaps it’s not the right one for the Modern Family star, who knows a lot about family life outside our screens as well.
