Michael Schumacher – Antarctica Island
We continue our tour of private islands owned by celebrities by returning to Dubai’s World Islands for our very last stop. Michael Schumacher was given a gift of an island in Antarctica by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, in 2006 as a token of appreciation for his success in winning the Formula One championship.
The island was estimated to be worth seven million dollars and had sufficient space to accommodate a number of yachts with a maximum length of one hundred feet each. The glass mansion and the helipad on Antarctica Island were only natural additions to the property once they were built there. What other kinds of things do you think might take place on a free island?
