Michael Caine
Famed British actor Michael Caine enlisted in his country’s army during the Korean War. That moment, according to him, was where he learned the true value of life. Since he found himself on the frontlines in several battles, standing face to face with armed militia who were willing to take his life, he concluded that life had more meaning.

Michael was discharged from the army following a particularly nasty bout with malaria. After recovering, he moved to London to pursue a career in show business, and the rest, as they say, is history. The first movie he appeared in was A Hill in Korea, where he portrayed a British private.
