Jimi Hendrix
When Jimi Hendrix was jailed twice for attempting to steal an automobile, he realized he had made the worst possible mistake he could make. Jimi was offered the option of going to jail or entering the army as a punishment in 1961. So, how could he choose the lesser of two terrible punishments?
That was an odd beginning to his military career. He served with the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he was required to work to accomplish his parachute training and was later awarded a Screaming Eagles Patch. After sustaining an injury during a jump, Jimi was released from the army in 1962.
