Berry Gordy
Berry Gordy’s life was full of ups and downs that eventually led to him being the record executive in charge of the legendary Motown label. He even tried to make a living with his hands by becoming a professional boxer. He had a 10-3-4 record, but in 1950, he was drafted for service in the Korean War.
He had no idea that his time in the US Army would one day serve as the foundation for his record company. After the Korean War, he founded a record store and began to create his own albums with the money he received from the army, which eventually developed into Motown. The funds flowed steadily after that, and today, he has a net worth of around $400 million.
