James Stewart
James Stewart, an American actor, wasn’t just another handsome face in Hollywood. He enlisted as a US Army Air Corps Soldier before the US joined WWII. After his time in the army, he found his way into Hollywood, and it didn’t take too long for him to become an acting legend.
Before being flown across the Atlantic as a B-24 bomber commander, he was trained how to fly many types of aircraft during his service. By the end of the war, he had flown 20 combat flights and had been elevated to brigadier general. He continued to serve as a reserve member of the Air Force until retiring in 1968 to resume his acting career.
