It’s a good idea to take your cat to the vet for a physical at least once a year. The physical exams aren’t dangerous, nor do they harm your cat in any way, but they still have an undying fear of visiting vets for some reason.
That’s probably why the OP didn’t feel like taking their pet to the pet doctor in the first place, which is what led to its uncontrollable weight gain. The cat looks like it’s sitting on the Leaning Tower of Pisa. One day, the OP will hear a loud crashing in the living room and know that their cat has put on too much poundage.
