They say that an era is defined by the catchphrases of its biggest TV shows. Well, they don’t really say that, but it’s at least a little bit true. That’s why anyone who was watching TV during the 70s and 80s will remember the following sayings that their favorite characters used to say constantly.

#1: “Dy-no-mite!”

Good Times was a favorite 1970s TV show, and J.J. Evans was a favorite character. The actor, Jimmie Walker, originally improvised the phrase, not knowing that it would become one of the most quoted lines of the show. Writers caught on to its popularity and kept writing it in.
