Don’t Look at Me
Here’s one cat mannerism that has left humans confused for centuries: cats covering their noses when they’re asleep. Why do they do this? Is it because they don’t want us staring at them when they’re asleep? Or maybe our scent is too much for them to bear.

The real answer is that cats like to keep their noses warm while they’re asleep. Legend has it that keeping its nose warm prevents it from becoming congested. As we all know, a plugged-up nostril is the worst thing to have at nighttime. Cats can supposedly prevent this from happening by burying their faces in their paws (or your butt when doing the “chair” sleeping position).
