There are certain car features nowadays that the younger generation can’t live without if they’re getting a new car. This includes a Bluetooth connection, GPS, a backup camera, etc. That said, the young’uns are probably not asking for cars with ashtrays or bench seats. Many car features were popular for a time but have since been phased out. While I miss some of them, others should probably stay in the past. We’re here today to look at 30 features that many cars used to have but no longer do.
#1: Front Bench Seats
Cars used to have a bench for a front seat where three people could sit at a time instead of two seats and a middle compartment. However, sedans nowadays don’t have this. For the middle person, it was difficult for manufacturers to install automatic airbags to save them, and a middle compartment allowed for more technology and storage. By the 1990s, front bench seats were rare. The last sedan with one was the 2013 Chevrolet Impala. I’m surprised it lasted that long!
