Tattie Scones
Here’s another Scottish favorite that we just had to include in our list. Potato scones or “tattie scones” as they are more lovingly called are the pinnacle of a traditional Scottish breakfast. They may also be called potato bread, potato cakes, boxty, or fadge. Unlike traditional British scones, these are more like shallow-fried potato pancakes.
They are made with mashed potatoes and plain flour which is made into a dough and then rolled out and cooked on a griddle. Tattie scones are served with sausages, scrambled eggs, and bread. You can also eat them toasted with some butter and maybe even some jam. They’re yummy no matter how you choose to eat it!
