HP Brown Sauce
We’re sure you will agree that it’s the condiment that maketh the sandwich. While most people across the world swear by ketchup, the Brits have their own favorite in the form of HP sauce. Also known as “brown sauce,” this delicious condiment first appeared in the UK back in the late 19th century and has since become a crowd favorite.
The sauce has a tomato base that is blended with malt vinegar, dates, spices, and tamarind extract among other things. It tastes amazing with any kind of sandwich, especially a bacon butty but it also goes well with soups, stews, and shepherd’s pie. There’s also “HP Fruity” which is a tangier version and “HP BBQ” for lovers of barbecue sauce.
