Marmite on Toast
In the “land down under”, it’s known as Vegemite but in the UK, it’s known as Marmite. Let’s just say that there are two types of people in the world – those who love Marmite and can’t imagine life without it and those who can’t stand it.
This brown salty bitter paste is made from yeast extract, is spread on buttered toast, and is usually served for breakfast. You can also spread it on bagels and crumpets. The trick apparently is in getting the right balance between the butter and Marmite – lots of butter with a bit of Marmite is the way to go.
