Mushy Peas
Mushy isn’t the most appetizing sounding word, yet somehow the British seem to relish mushy peas from a can. There’s no explanation needed, these are soaked peas that are boiled with salt and sugar to form a bright green mush. They are usually served as a side dish with their national dish, fish, and chips.
You’ve got to wonder, though, who thought peas would be a good addition to fish and chips? Apparently, people also eat it with toast, grilled meats, and pies. We’ve been told that it’s tastier that it looks but until we actually taste them, we can’t be sure.
