WeWork
You know the story, young people come up with a great idea, they make it into a brand, the brand leads to a community, they become popular, raise millions of dollars, and as they see success right outside their 40th floor window, reality comes knocking in the shape of no possible foreseeable financial future.
Sadly, that was the case with WeWork, who opened public communal offices all over the world, became a massive hit among freelancers and young start up companies, and now have to sell most of their properties just to stay afloat. As it turns out, realestate does not always promise great value and success. The competing brands who offer cheaper offices with less of a ‘community’ feel became much more successful than WeWork, and proved to be an almost fatal competition.
