In the early days of their popularity, a lot of celebrities underwent procedures that weren’t as safe, or as effective as they are now. The results were sometimes not quite what they had in mind.
Lisa Rinna, for example, underwent a procedure to inject filler into her lips in 1988, but rather than the temporary substance you would get now, these were permanent silicone injections. After a while, the silicone began to leak and form scar tissue around her lips. In the end, the actress had to undergo several further procedures to remove the silicone and the damaged tissue.
