#36: Welcome To Our Pack
A little bit of grooming can go a long way! Did you know that when someone grooms another person during casual interaction, it can be a sign of unconscious affection and a way of welcoming them into the pack? In the animal kingdom, grooming is a way of maintaining social bonds and showing affection within a group.
And while we may not spend our days picking bugs off each other’s fur, we still engage in grooming behaviors in our own way. When we’re interacting with someone we feel close to or comfortable with, we may engage in grooming behaviors like fixing their hair, brushing lint off their clothes, or straightening their collar.
