#8: The Rutles – All You Need Is Cash (1978)

All You Need Is Cash introduced The Rutles, dreamed up by Eric Idle and Neil Innes. The whole project cheekily mirrors the rise and chaos of The Beatles, right down to the sound. Songs like “Cheese and Onions” nail the vibe without crossing into copycat territory. And this wasn’t a one-off gag. The Rutles went on to release albums and even regroup for later projects, proving the parody had real legs and a fanbase happy to play along.
