#15: Josie and the Pussycats – Josie and the Pussycats (2001)

Originally from Dan De Carlo’s 1963 comic, Josie and the Pussycats take center stage as a rock trio suddenly swept into fame in the 2001 live version. The band gets a glossy, early-2000s pop-rock makeover. Rachael Leigh Cook leads on screen, while Kay Hanley provides the vocals. Songs like “3 Small Words” and “Spin Around” bring that punchy energy the era thrived on. The soundtrack sold well and built a cult following, even if the band itself stayed firmly within the film’s world.
