#2: Overconsumption of Sugar
We know we didn’t surprise you with this one. The United States is one of the largest consumers of sugar in the world, with an average of 17 teaspoons per person per day. That’s roughly two to three times above the recommended daily allowance for men and women. It’s reported that a big reason for this overconsumption is that sugar is sneakily added to so many foods that wouldn’t ordinarily have it, which is why the same kind of food in other countries can taste so different.
