#9: Teotihuacán (Mexico)
Known as the “City of the Gods,” Teotihuacán boasted massive pyramids and a population exceeding 100,000 at its peak. Around the 7th century, it collapsed suddenly—possibly due to unrest or resource depletion. By the time the Aztecs arrived centuries later, they found only ruins. Its mysterious fall remains unsolved.
