Boxers are muscular, playful, protective, and emotionally incapable of acting dignified for very long. They have been American family favorites for decades because they combine guardian instincts with clownish loyalty. A good Boxer can be wonderful with kids, energetic in the yard, and deeply attached to the household. They are basically security guards who occasionally forget they are not puppies anymore.
