Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Funeral Procession on April 12th, 1945
Franklin Delano Roosevelt (January 30, 1882 – April 12, 1945), who was often referred to by his initials FDR, was an American statesman and politician who served as the 32nd president of the United States from 1933 until his death in 1945.
A member of the Democratic party, he won a record of 4 presidential elections and became a central figure in world events during the first half of the 20th century. His last years in office were dominated by the fight in the second world war. While the country mourned the loss of Roosevelt, the troops in Europe continued to fight the forces of Germany, ultimately winning the war in September of that same year.
